Ford's fleet team were jubilant after picking up the two most important awards in the UK fleet industry – along with three others that show just how highly Ford vehicles are regarded by fleet professionals.

The readers of Fleet News voted Mondeo as Company Car of the Year and Ford as Fleet Manufacturer of the Year.

The other three awards, all judged by an independent panel, were Mondeo Best Large Family Car, S-MAX Best People Carrier and Transit Best Medium Van over 2.2 and including 2.8 tonnes.

Ford Fleet Operations Director Kevin Griffin was understandably proud of the results: "Everyone at Ford Motor Company is absolutely delighted to have won five Fleet News awards and to be recognised by our customers and the fleet industry, as well as Fleet News," he said.

"S-MAX has really gone from strength to strength and was one of the first vehicles to truly reflect our kinetic Design. Transit has not only provided increased choice and value to the commercial market, but the attention to detail in the driver cab has assisted driver comfort and productivity, as well as ensuring that all areas of duty of care are fully met."

"The launch of Mondeo has gone tremendously well and to receive the Best Large Family Car award and the Company Car of the Year award is overwhelming."
