Electronic recall

Ford Fleet Electronic Safety Recall Programme

Ford is aware that, the important process of mailing advisory information regarding safety recalls and non safety owner notified service programmes can cause an unexpected administrative burden for Fleet Managers.

Therefore, Ford has developed a programme to ease this administrative burden:
The Ford Fleet – Electronic Safety Recall Programme.

Ford Fleet Electronic Safety Recall Programme
Benefits
  • Dramatically reduced administration.
  • Improved follow-up to assist fleets to fulfil duty of care.
  • Free of charge to fleets.

Programme Summary
For fleets who have registered for this programme in the event of a recall;
  • Ford's recall agency emails a file containing details of potentially affected vehicles (identified by VIN) to the Fleet Customer.
  • The Fleet Customer reconciles the recall file with their own records to produce an electronic list detailing the name & address of all end users or whoever is responsible locally for the vehicle e.g. a depot manager, and then return the file to the agency.
  • Once the file is returned to the agency, the end user will be contacted (at the address supplied by the Fleet Customer), advising of the need to have their vehicle checked / reworked.
  • The agency will send the Fleet Customer a monthly report identifying all outstanding VINs for recall.
  • The agency will re-mail the end user regarding outstanding recalls after 6 months.
For more information on this programme and/or to register for it, please contact your Fleet Aftermarket Business Manager or the Fleet Service Centre on 01277 251 250 or email fleetalk@ford.com
