As you are aware, every new Ford vehicle includes roadside assistance from 'Ford Assistance' for 12 months on passenger cars and 36 months on commercial vehicles. We wish to make you aware of a change to the Terms & Conditions of the 'Ford Assistance' programme.
Please note that on Ford vehicles registered on or after March 1st 2008, Ford Assistance will not provide free-of-charge assistance for the following 'customer-induced faults':
- Fuel – run out of fuel or use of the wrong fuel
- Keys – keys mislaid (lost or stolen) or keys locked inside vehicle
In the event of a customer induced fault, the driver may call the usual number for Ford Assistance (0800 111234). However, before attending, Ford Assistance will advise the cost of the callout and/or local recovery (costs may vary according to circumstances). It will be the responsibility of the vehicle's driver to cover these costs.
Vehicles registered before March 1st 2008 are unaffected by this change.

Ford's unique Easy Fuel system, with its patented mis-fuelling inhibitor, launched on the new Ford Mondeo and now also fitted as standard on the new Ford Focus, will eliminate the most frequently occurring type of customer-induced fault, placing the wrong type of fuel into the vehicle.
