World Touring Car Championship

The FIA (Federation Internationale De L'Automobile) WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) was created in June 2004. Described as 'real racing with real cars' it aims to put the race back into motor racing. WTCC is the logical progression of the popular European Touring Car Championship that the FIA revived in 2001, introducing with new technical regulations in 2002.

There are 5 registered manufacturers participating: Ford, Seat, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Chevrolet, each competing in a homologated production car.

There are a number of technical regulations for this championship ranging from minimum overall length of the entry vehicle (4.20 metres) to wheels and tyre rims. Each entry vehicle must be a production car with the modified Super 2000 kit.
