The Awards rate vehicles according to their resistance to theft and break-ins and are backed by Thatcham, the Department for Transport, UK Insurers and supported by the Home Office.
The S-MAX achieved the highest score with Galaxy a close second - scooping the key awards in the highly competitive large MPV category.

Standard security features on the S-MAX include Thatcham Category 1 alarms, remote-control deadlocks, engine immobiliser and visible VIN numbers. The inclination (tilt) sensor was also a key factor in the overall result.

John Cooper, Director of Customer Service Division said: “Our security engineers continue to design the best features to support crime prevention - and again it's our customer that benefits."

“Ford knows what’s important to buyers when it comes to security and the S-MAX delivers – it’s a worthy winner once again,” said Steve Fowler, Group Editor, What Car? Magazine.
